Press Release for Safire McMillan Canale Salon, Malibu

High-end boutique salon Safire McMillan Canale opens in Malibu

Malibu, Calif. – Internationally renowned hair stylist Chris McMillan and colorist Michael Canale have joined forces with long-time Malibu stylist Bernie Safire to open the high-end boutique salon Safire McMillan Canale in Malibu, Calif.

Safire McMillan Canale provides clients with world-class hairstyling and color, cut, blowouts and Brazilian straightening, and carries hair products from the Kerastase line.

A grand opening event will soon be announced, though the salon opened its doors to clients in October.

And what will this salon be known for? “Beautiful hair!” Damian Hardy, salon manager at Chris McMillan the Salon and Safire McMillan Canale, says. “Whether it’s color, styling or cut, they’re doing beautiful hair. That’s it.”

Hairstylist Bernie Safire has owned Bernie Safire Salon in Malibu for the last 30 years. With his feet firmly planted within the Malibu community, the partnership between Safire, McMillan and Canale is a sure force to be reckoned with.

The high industry standards they set are unwavering.

Both McMillan and Canale are world-renowned for their trend-setting, cutting-edge style, using innovative techniques to create – not imitate – sexy, loose, low-key locks and flawless color for the world’s top celebrities.

Safire McMillan Canale’s decor harmonizes the aesthetic of the stylists that call it home: The down-to-earth California vibe combined with modern architecture, richly colored walls, walnut countertops and unique antique touches creates a one-of-a-kind, warm environment for clients each time they walk through the door.

McMillan, who currently owns Chris McMillan The Salon in Beverly Hills, Calif., is credited for creating “The Rachel,” a hair style popularized by Jennifer Aniston’s character in “Friends,” and has styled the tresses of such high-profile clients as Aniston, Kate Beckinsale and Hugh Jackman.

His work consistently graces the glossy pages of Allure, Vogue, Vanity Fair and GQ magazines, among countless others, working with top photographers in the industry.

Michael Canale, owner of Canale Salon in Beverly Hills, Calif., maintains a select clientele in New York and Washington, D.C., is regarded as one of the top colorists in the beauty industry. His work has splashed onto the pages of such magazines as InStyle, Allure, W and Sports Illustrated.

Canale is perhaps best known for Jennifer Aniston’s caramel highlights, and has colored the locks of such celebrities as Heidi Klum, Penelope Cruz and Carolyn Murphy.

Allure Magazine has ranked both McMillan and Canale as two of the most influential professionals in the industry.

Safire McMillan Canale is located at 3835 Cross Creek Road in Malibu, open seven days a week. For more information, call (310) 456.9973 or visit
